There are several companies that will pay you to
take surveys. Most of them work by having you give them certain demographic
information like your age, gender, location, maybe your shopping habits etc.
Major Companies pay these firms to to conduct surveys. Usually the survey
firm will need to collect surveys from various cross sections of the
demographics. For example, a new cereal ad campaign may require data
primarily from working mothers, age 25-40, who do the majority of the family
shopping with children under 18, but they will also want Men age 18-21 who
eat at least 3 bowls of cereal a month.
When the Survey company has a survey that they
think you will qualify for, they will e-mail you and ask you a few
qualifying questions, like how many bowls of cereal do you eat a week or
they may be checking to see if you eat their competitors cereal so they may
ask what brands you eat. If you qualify
then you take a survey and get paid or entered for a prize. Surveys can take
a few minutes or take much longer so it is up to you to weigh the risk and
reward. I like getting paid and don't really care for contests so I will
list the sites that pay first then the contest sites last.
The number of surveys you get depend really on
your demographic information, but also be aware that sometimes the
pre-qualification questions may ask if you have taken a survey in the last
30 days.
The premise behind this is basically the same
you see in malls where a mall surveyor will ask you pre-qualifying questions
and then if you qualify you take a survey. Sometimes these have incentives.
The survey company usually gets a good sum of money for every survey they
get completed. I actually got a free pair of running shoes to test out and
$200.00 from doing one of those surveys in the mall.
When searching the web for survey companies,
don't ever I repeat EVER pay to join a panel. This is not legitimate.

Go Zing Surveys
Get paid anywhere between $5.00 and $50.00 per survey. Go
Zing has been around and is a reputable survey firm. As with all the
surveys listed here, registration is free.
Go Zing is the
first on my list because you will get several opportunities to take a survey
and are able to make some significant money.

Get paid anywhere between $5.00 and $50.00 per survey
Nielsen / NetRatings
If you haven't heard of the Nielsen then you must be hiding under a rock.
Neilsen ratings determine what plays on TV. They also track internet usage
and offer other surveys. Give your opinion and you could win $50,000 Cash.
Survey Networks
Take surveys and get entered into drawings. Survey networks is a very
reputable firm and offers some great prizes. You also can get entries by
referring other people.
Harris poll
You earn points that are redeemable for gifts. Harris Poll is
a very well know polling company.
Consumer Views
You typically get paid around $5.00 per survey or get coupons.
The Net Panel
You take surveys to get entered for prizes like flat panel
tvs.
Opinion
Square
Earn cash and prizes for taking surveys.
American Consumer Opinion
You can win money in monthly drawings just for being a member, win money in
drawings when you fill out a screener (a short questionnaire) and earn money
each time you fill out a survey (a longer questionnaire).
IntelliQuest
IntelliQuest specializes in more technical surveys. You may
participate in surveys related to new tech products like new cell phones,
but if you are in the technology field, they have a lot of surveys
concerning new technology acquisition by your firm. You get points for every
survey you complete which are redeemable for cash and gifts. You are also
entered into a drawing for $5,000 for each survey. IntelliQuest has been
around for several years.
E-Poll
You earn points for taking surveys which can get you gift
certificates. You are also entered into drawings for cash.
Kelly Research
This works like most other survey companies. Before taking a
survey with this company, make sure to check what the payment is because not
all the surveys pay you.
Live Wire
Live Wore works like Focus Line, you signup to be on panels
and when selected, they pay you to take a survey. I have not participated in
years so I do not know how often you will get offers, but the company has
been around for several years. It appears you have to send an e-mail to the
panel. I like web based / automated systems better so I consider this a
negative mark.
I have heard
recently that
Greenfield online has not paid out recently and that mailsweeps has been
selling e-mail list to spammers to beware. Greenfield has been around for
several years and I have only heard this from one source. I have not had any
recent experience with them so they may still be worth a try.
