AdWord account. Relevance is the Key Google prides itself on delivering relevant results for queries. Just because you are paying for an ad does not mean they will deliver irrelevant ads. For example, I looked at a chocolate company's ad that for the keyword diamond. Well I guess Diamonds and Chocolate go together, but most people searching for diamonds are not going to click on an ad for chocolate. The click through rate is the percent of clicks your ad receives relative to the times the ad is shown. For example, if your ad displays 100 times and is clicked on 2 time, your click through rate is 2%. The click through rate you need varies by keyword, but If you don't have at least 0.5% you can't have the number one position no matter how high you bid the price of that keyword. Half a percent is not the only limitation. I looked at another person's account that had a 2.5% click through rate, but Google slowed their AdWord. Why? Well, although 2.5% is not that bad, but the competitors had a higher rate. I actually happened to manage another AdWord account that had the same key word and my click through rate was over 20% for the same key word. Needless to say, I always showed up number one and I actually was paying less than ads below me. I was actually paying the minimum cost for an AdWord of $0.05 and I always always number 1. So see how a good relevant ad can help you out? It increases your sales and reduces your cost. The formula for your AdWord position is your bid times your CTR. So if you have a CTR rate of 3.0% and your competitor has a rate of 1.0%, they have to bid 3 times your bid amount to beat your position. If you bid $1.00 for position number 1, hey would have to bid $3.01 to get into position 1. If your ads aren't displaying, an often overlooked tool is the Ads Diagnostic Tool. When you first log on to your account, their is a tools link towards the top of the page. Type in the key word and see if your ad is slowed. If it has been slowed or paused, it will tell you why. When bidding on key words, use the Keyword tool which is also located in this tool menu or is displayed whenever you ad a new ad. It will help you figure out different variations of your keywords. Think of your ad from the client perspective. Another thing to remember is that Google will only display one ad for the same domain. So if you are competing someone else trying to make Google Cash, you are probably linking to the same domain. This is why I recommend maintaining your own site and then linking to your affiliate from that site. See my Google Cash page for more information about this.
AdWords is a Perfect Testing Ground AdWords will let you run multiple ads for a keyword. Google will then rotate the ads evenly. The trick is to always run at least two ads at a time. Your goal is to let the ads run for a certain amount of time and select the ad that has the highest click through rate and delete the poorer performer. You keep writing new ads trying to beat your original ad.
